Unlocking the HTC Wildfire

Unlocking the HTC Wildfire
If you been bombarded with information from other articles and forums, hopefully I can make a bit of sense out of it all. Unlocking the HTC WIldfire is a very easy thing to do and is completely legal as well - so please don't worry about the police knocking your door down in the middle of the night. All you need is an unlock code, 5 minutes of your time and maybe 3 brain cells.

So, unlocking, why do you need to do it? Well my friend, when a phone is sold directly by a network (which most are) the phone usually comes with a lock in place, meaning that the phone will only then accept SIM cards from that network. The networks can do this because with the lock in place, they can sell the handset for a cheaper price - hoping to recoup the cost back over the phones lifespan. These locks are placed by the manufacturer on behalf of the network, but aren't the way the manufacturer intend the phone to be sold - meaning that unlocking the phone will not breach the manufacturer warranty. Good times.

The manufacturer also cleverly create a process in the phone allowing the user to enter a unique unlock code to remove this lock. HTC are actually one of the best at doing this and their phones also the most reliable. The Wildfire is a massively popular phone to have unlocked at the moment, generally because people are now at the end of their contracts and want to switch or sell the phone to someone else.

The first thing you need to do is get your Wildfire unlock code. This should take around 5 - 25 minutes in total to be delivered and will be sent straight to your email address. Once you have it, follow these instructions:

1. Put a non-accepted SIM card in the Wildfire and turn it on
2. Before the screen loads, the Wildfire will ask for the unlock code
3. Enter the code you were sent and press Enter
4. Let the magic happen

That really is it and is very simple to do. As soon as this is done the phone will now work with this SIM card and any other that you want to put into it. Although, with 4G networks now coming out of the woodwork and the current Wildfire not being 4G compatible, you should be aware that it won't work with those cards.

I hope that has helped you. If so, I'd love to hear in the comments below.

I unlocked my HTC WILDFIRE model mobile phone safer and easier using unlock code. I got the accurate unlock code for my mobile phone from www.mobile-unlocker.com and also got the unlocking instructions from www.mobileunlockguide.com for free.
